Fables of the Green Forest batch

In 2020, South Wind Subs and Old Castle started working on the first full sub for the original Japanese BD version of Fables of the Green Forest (Yama Nezumi Rocky Chuck), the 52-ep. 1973 anime series based on the lovely animal stories by Thornton W. Burgess. This resulted in weekly releases beginning in August of 2020, reaching final ep. last week. Today, Old Castle & South Wind Subs proudly announce the batch for Fables of the Green Forest, available in 3 flavours: 1080p (by OC) and 720p & Subs only (by SWS) with subs in EN/PL/NL/RO. We would like to thank everyone involved in making this long-held dream come true: Cyber Zero, Mónica and Lordwen (who helped create our 2016 dub sub that served as foundation for this new release), Gango (initial translation OP/EN songs), Moozzi2 (RAW maker), Kirion (smaller re-encode) and last but not least our partner fansub group Old Castle! Thanks to the combined efforts we can now enjoy the adventures of Rocky and Polly Woodchuck, Peter Rabbit, Chatter the Red Squirrel, Sammy Blue Jay, Reddy Fox and all the other creatures of the Green Forest and Meadows, fully translated and with stunning video!

EN 52 – The Forest Goes Into Hibernation: Many animals, including Rocky and Polly, are going into winter hibernation. Peter organizes a farewell party, hoping to meet all of his friends again next spring.
NL 52 – Het bos gaat in winterslaap: Veel dieren, Rocky en Polly óók, gaan in winterslaap. Peter organiseert een afscheidsfeestje, in de hoop komende lente al zijn vrienden weer te zien.
PL 52 – Las zapada w zimowy sen: Wiele zwierząt, w tym Rocky i Polly, zapada w sen zimowy. Peter organizuje przyjęcie pożegnalne, mając nadzieję, że następnej wiosny znów spotka się ze wszystkimi swoimi przyjaciółmi.
RO 52 – Pădurea intră în hibernare: Multe animale, inclusiv Rocky şi Polly, vor hiberna iarna asta. Peter organizează o petrecere de rămas-bun, sperând să-şi revadă toţi prietenii în primăvara următoare.

EN 51 – Whose Footprint Is the Other One?: Farmer Brown’s son finds empty egg shells in the henhouse and the tracks of Jimmy Skunk leaving. But, there are also tracks of another intruder who’s still inside.
NL 51 – Van wie is die tweede voetafdruk?: Boer Bruin’s zoon vindt lege eierschalen in het kippenhok en sporen van Jimmy Stinkdier’s vertrek. Maar, er zijn ook sporen van een andere indringer die nog binnen zit.
PL 51 – Do kogo należy drugi ślad?: Syn pana Browna znajduje w kurniku puste skorupki jajek i ślady Skunksa Jimmy’ego. Ale są też ślady innego intruza, który wciąż jest w środku.
RO 51 – A cui e cealaltă urmă?: Fiul fermierului Brown găseşte coji de ouă în coteţ şi urmele de plecare ale lui Jimmy Sconcsul. Dar mai sunt şi urmele altui nepoftit, care-i încă înăuntru.

EN 50 – Peter and the Peach Tree: Peter braves a trip across the snowy meadow to reach the orchard, where he nibbles bark from the peach trees. The farmer tries to stop Peter for good.
NL 50 – Peter en de perzikboom: Peter trotseert een tripje over de besneeuwde weide om de boomgaard te bereiken, waar hij knabbelt van de bast van perzikbomen. De boer probeert Peter voor altijd te stoppen.
PL 50 – Peter i brzoskwinia: Peter odważa się przejść przez zaśnieżoną łąkę, aby poobgryzać korę z brzoskwini pana Browna. Farmer próbuje powstrzymać Petera na dobre.
RO 50 – Peter şi piersicul: Peter se avântă într-o călătorie peste pajiştea înzăpezită ca să ajungă la livadă, unde roade coaja de pe piersici. Fermierul încearcă să-l oprească pe Peter pentru totdeauna.

EN 49 – Danny in the Snow: Winter has come to the forest and Danny Meadow Mouse loves to tunnel through the snow, playing hide-and-seek with Reddy Fox. But a mouse should always be on guard.
NL 49 – Danny in de sneeuw: De winter is gearriveerd in het bos en Danny Veldmuis maakt graag tunnels in de sneeuw, om verstoppertje te spelen met Roodstaart de Vos. Maar een muis moet altijd op zijn hoede zijn.
PL 49 – Danny i śnieg: Do lasu nadeszła zima. Danny Polna Mysz bawi się w chowanego z Reddym, budując tunele w śniegu. Jednak mysz powinna zawsze mieć się na baczności.
RO 49 – Danny în zăpadă: Iarna a venit în pădure şi lui Danny Şoarecele de Câmp îi place să sape galerii în zăpadă, jucându-se de-a v-aţi ascunselea cu Vulpoiul Roşcovan. Dar un şoarece ar trebui să fie mereu precaut.

EN 48 – Peter the Imitator: Peter Rabbit wants to play, but his friends are busy getting ready for winter or have gone into hibernation. Peter wonders if a rabbit can hibernate too?
NL 48 – Peter de imitator: Peter Konijn wil spelen, maar zijn vrienden zijn druk met wintervoorbereidingen of zijn in winterslaap gegaan. Peter vraagt zich af of een konijn ook winterslaap kan houden?
PL 48 – Peter-naśladowca: Peter Rabbit chce się bawić, ale jego przyjaciele są zajęci przygotowaniami do zimy. Peter zastanawia się, czy królik też może hibernować?
RO 48 – Peter, imitatorul: Iepurele Peter vrea să se joace, dar prietenii lui sunt ocupaţi cu pregătirile de iarnă, iar unii deja hibernează. Peter se întreabă: oare şi un iepure poate să hiberneze?

EN 47 – A Gift Buster Left Behind: The animals think Buster Bear has been eating too much of their food, and won’t help him find a warm cave for his winter hibernation. They want him to leave.
NL 47 – Een afscheidscadeau van Frank: de dieren vinden dat Frank teveel van hun voedsel heeft gegeten, en weigeren hem te helpen een warme grot voor de winterslaap te vinden. Ze willen dat hij vertrekt.
PL 47 – Podarunek od Bustera: Zwierzęta uważają, że Niedźwiedź Buster je za dużo i odmawiają mu pomocy w poszukiwaniu ciepłej jaskini na zimę. Chcą, żeby odszedł.
RO 47 – Darul lui Buster: Animalele cred că Ursul Buster a mâncat prea mult din hrana lor, şi nu-l ajută să-şi găsească o peşteră caldă pentru hibernare. Ele vor ca el să plece.

EN 46 – Sammy Learns a Lesson: Everyone’s storing food for winter, except Sammy. He thinks he can steal food from storages of others. When they find out, Peter makes a song to ridicule Sammy.
NL 46 – Sammy leert een lesje: Iedereen slaat eten op voor de winter, behalve Sammy. Hij denkt dat hij eten kan stelen uit de voorraden van anderen. Als die er achter komen, maakt Peter een lied om Sammy belachelijk te maken.
PL 46 – Sammy dostaje nauczkę: Wszyscy oprócz Sammy’ego robią zapasy na zimę. Sammy’emu wystarcza, że może kraść jedzenie z nieswoich magazynów. Peter układa piosenkę, która wyśmiewa Sammy’ego.
RO 46 – Sammy primeşte o lecţie: Toţi adună hrană pentru iarnă, cu excepţia lui Sammy. El crede că poate să fure mâncare din depozitele celorlalţi. Când ei află, Peter compune un cântec ca să-l facă de râs pe Sammy.

EN 45 – The Incident at the Moon-viewing Party: Reddy is humiliated after unsuccessful attempts to catch Peter and Chatterer. Granny Fox decides to catch them at the moon celebration by the Lonesome Pine.
NL 45 – Het incident tijdens het maanfeest: Roodje wordt uitgelachen na onsuccesvolle pogingen om Peter en Eddy te vangen. Grootmoe Vos besluit om hen te vangen tijdens het maanfeest bij de Grote Den.
PL 45 – Awantura podczas oglądania Księżyca: Reddy kolejny raz zostaje upokorzony po nieudanych próbach złapania Petera i Chatterera. Babcia Lis postanawia go pomścić podczas uroczystości oglądania Księżyca przy Samotnej Sośnie.
RO 45 – Incidentul de la petrecerea sub clar de lună: Roşcovanul e umilit după ce eşuează să-i prindă pe Peter şi Guralivul. Bunica Vulpe hotărăşte să-i prindă la sărbătoarea lunii de lângă Pinul Singuratic.

EN 44 – Tom and Bob the Quail: Bob Quail and Mrs. Bob become worried when one of their children, Mikey, is wounded by a hunter’s bullet, and goes missing. Then they learn Tom found him.
NL 44 – Tom en Bob de kwartel: Bob Kwartel en Mevrouw Kwartel zijn ongerust als een van hun kinderen, Maikie, gewond is door een jagerskogel en vermist raakt. Dan horen ze dat Tom ‘m heeft gevonden.
PL 44 – Tom i Bob Przepiórka: Kiedy jedno z dzieci państwa Bob, Mikey, zostaje zranione kulą myśliwego i znika, jego rodzice odchodzą od zmysłów. Na domiar złego dowiadują się, że Mikey’ego odnalazł Tom.
RO 44 – Tom şi Prepeliţa Bob: Prepeliţa Bob şi soţia lui sunt îngrijoraţi când unul dintre puii lor, Mikey, e rănit de un glonte, şi dispare. Apoi ei află că Tom l-a găsit.
